Meena said, “In the structural audit of towers E and F, the IIT-Delhi team has found structural deficiencies in the construction of these towers and repairs are not possible on technical and economic grounds. Therefore, the two towers are not fit for habitation.” The IIT-Delhi team has also recommended the closure of E and F towers. The allottees of the two towers will be rehabilitated as per rules.”
IIT-Delhi had earlier declared Tower D unsafe in its inspection report released in November 2022, whose assessment report is also being shared with the residents of the tower and the developer for the settlement process. ADC Meena, who is also the chairman of the SIT, said, “Recent reports have found high chloride content in the concrete used in the construction of buildings, which destroyed the steel and concrete used in the construction.” The district administration will investigate the incident of February 2022.
