The Union Health Ministry has decided to send a high-level team to Mumbai to take stock of the rise in measles cases in Mumbai. The team will assist state health officials in setting up public health measures and coordinate necessary containment and prevention measures. The 3-member central team for Mumbai includes experts from National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), and Regional Office of Health and Family Welfare, Pune, Maharashtra.

The team will also undertake field visits to investigate the outbreak and assist the state health departments in terms of public health measures, management guidelines and protocols to manage the rising number of measles cases being reported in Mumbai.
