Recruitment under Agniveer scheme will be done in three phases.

Indian Army has issued a notification regarding changes in the recruitment process of Agniveers and others. The notification for registration has been uploaded on the website of Join Indian Army. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that online registration for applications is now open from February 16 to March 15, in which candidates can apply according to their age, educational qualification, physical standards and other eligibility requirements.

Army has announced amendment in recruitment process for ‘Junior Commissioned Officer/Other Rank/Agniveer’. As per the revised recruitment process, computer based online Common Entrance Test (CEE) will be conducted before the recruitment rally.

The army had recently advertised in various newspapers regarding the change in procedure. The recruitment will be done in three phases. In the first phase, all the candidates who have registered and applied online on the website will have to undergo CEE.

In phase two, the selected candidates will be called for recruitment rally at the venue to be decided by the respective Army Recruiting Offices (AROs), where they will undergo physical fitness test and physical measurement test, the statement said.

According to the statement, the candidates finally selected in phase three will have to undergo a medical test. According to this, it is planned to conduct Computer Based Online CEE from 17th to 30th April at 175 to 180 examination centers across India. The ministry said that educational videos on ‘How to register’ and ‘How to appear’ in the online entrance test have been uploaded on the Join Indian Army website and YouTube.

The fee for Online CEE is Rs.500 per candidate. In this, 50 percent of it will be borne by the Indian Army. During the online registration of the application, the candidates will have to pay Rs.250. They may also give five options to appear in the online CEE.

The changed process will focus on enhanced cognitive aspects during recruitment and result in wider and better reach across the country, the statement said. This will also reduce the crowd in recruitment rallies and reduce the number of candidates going for medical examination.
