The minister gave the above answer to a question asked whether the neighboring and rogue nation (Pakistan), which is a nuclear power, would be an asset or a burden. Jaishankar was in Pune for the release of his English book “The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World”, which has been translated into Marathi as ‘Bharat Marg’.
The Marathi version of Jaishankar’s book was released by Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. When asked about the economic condition of Pakistan, S Jaishankar said that he cannot comment on what is happening in Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that according to The News International, the World Bank has reduced Pakistan’s economic growth from 4 percent to 2 percent for the current financial year, saying that Islamabad is facing increasing economic difficulties.
