More than 200 Muslim prisoners of Muzaffarnagar district jail in Uttar Pradesh are observing Navratri fast along with other Hindu prisoners in a show of solidarity. Sitaram Sharma, Jail Superintendent of Muzaffarnagar District Jail gave this information.
Jail superintendent said that 218 Muslim prisoners along with 1104 Hindu prisoners are observing Navratri fast for communal harmony.
He said that the jail administration has made special arrangements to provide fruits, milk and ‘Kuttu’ flour to the prisoners in the district jail.
