President Draupadi Murmu honored 36 meritorious students with degrees at the convocation ceremony of Doon University on Friday. He said that students should respect motherland, mother tongue and mother. If they are not respected, our identity will be lost. In the ceremony, 669 students of graduation, masters and PhD of the year 2021 were given degrees.

On this occasion, the President said that I am happy that local folk languages ​​Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari are taught along with book language in Doon University. He said that the memory of this day will remain one of the most memorable experiences of the life journey of these students. Today a dream of these students is coming true.

International recognition of the institutions here
The President said that there are several national-level institutions here, the Indian Military Academy, Indian Wildlife Institute, Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy, Forest Research Institute, Indian Petroleum Research Institute and Govind Ballabh Pant Agricultural University, which have special recognition at the international level.

Only education can bring change in the whole nation.
The President said that education is the only medium that can bring change in the entire nation. Research and innovation should be promoted in educational institutions, so that students are more equipped with technical skills and provide employment to others instead of looking for employment themselves.

Students should become learners of knowledge and learning: Governor
Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) said that getting a degree does not mean that our process of learning and acquiring knowledge is complete. Students should remain learners of knowledge and learning throughout their life. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that President Draupadi Murmu is also an inspirational example of women empowerment. Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that more than five lakh students are pursuing higher education in the state, out of which 65 percent are girls.
